Caritas Czech Republic takes a lead even in technologies. As a first in Czechia, Caritas Czech Republic launches its mobile app thanks to which all the professional manuals with clear explanations will be available immediately for nurses in-home care, meaning those caring for patients in the field every day. It is about nursing care standards that are obligatory for nurses in the field.
In eight years, Caritas Czech Republic has developed up to 50 standard nursing procedures, which means norms and instructions on how to exercise concrete health procedures exactly with patients, including video guides, for example, to apply injection, infusion, rehabilitation, or oxygen. These professional procedures are regularly updated.
Now all the above mentioned standards will be available to every nurse in a special mobile app. When preparing the health aids, the nurse can check if whether she/he has got everything needed and go through steps of the procedure that she/he does not usually perform or use a video guide.
In addition, the mobile app has many other advantages. For example, it signals potential complications or facilitates the head nurse check that nurses have studied the updated standard nursing procedures.
Increasingly high-quality medical technologies enable us to care even for those patients at home who not so long ago stayed in hospitals. That is why the development of new standard nursing procedures is one of the priorities of a professional association of nurses called QUALITAS OPTIMA 2020. This is the association behind the launch of the new app.
More than 1 800 nurses work in Caritas Czech Republic. Either in-home health care, mobile hospice care, residential social services, physiotherapy, or psychiatric care.
With this practical mobile app, Caritas Czech Republic proves again its high quality brand. „The standards in the paper, stored somewhere on the shelf or displayed on the website are in the past within our organization,“ says Ludmila Kučerová, the manager for Advocacy in Health for Caritas Czech Republic.
