Caritas Czech Republic nurses discussed personal shortage

The alarming shortage of nursing staff across the whole republic, the obstacles in legislation that make addressing the situation difficult, but also an analysis of reasons leading to today´s situation and what solutions are on offer, were the main topics of the Round Table where representatives of Qualitas Optima 2020 and Gratia futurum 913 organizations met. The expert meeting took place for the first time ever in mid-September in Marianeum Hotel in Prague.

The participants agreed that there are ways to address the state of services on the health-social frontier despite the worrying situation.  Not only in the present but mainly for the future. „We are now refining the suggestions internally, and we will continue to discuss solutions with the Ministry of Health,“ said Ludmila Kučerová, coordinator for Health Activities at Caritas Czech Republic and one of the founders of Qualitas Optima 2020 organization. According to her, the next meeting will probably be at the GF 913 conference in January 2022 in Teplice.

Qualitas Optima 2020 is a professional expert society for non-medical health professionals of Caritas Czech Republic.

Gratia futurum 913 brings together representatives of legal entities – providers of social services and individuals indifferent to the situation of financing health care in social services.
